I am a technology architect involved in research, design, standardization, and productization of IoT and mobile technologies. I am currently serving as the VP of Advanced Technology Development at Actility, the leading system vendor in the IoT LP-WAN field, and Vice Chairman of the BoD and Chairman of the Technical Committee at the LoRa Alliance. Prior to my current post, I have worked for Samsung Electronics Research Center where I led the 5G IP mobility, 4G WiMAX security, and ETSI M2M security design projects. I made essential contributions to the design and standardization of networking technologies including Mobile IP, IPv6, and Zigbee IP during my tenure at Samsung, DoCoMo USA Labs, and Sun Microsystems. I have been actively involved in international standards organizations such as IETF, 3GPP, ETSI, LoRa Alliance, Zigbee Alliance, and WiMAX Forum at contributor and committee chair capacities.
I am a past member of IETF Wireless and IPv6 Forum Technical Directorates, author of numerous telecom-related standards and papers with 16 granted and several pending patents, and a co-author of the book titled “Next Generation Mobile Systems: 3G & Beyond.”
In addition to global R&D engagements, I am also driving formation of the IoT R&D ecosystem in Turkey as the founder of the “Nesnelerin Interneti Toplulugu (IoTxTR)”. I am on the Industry Advisory Board of Bogazici University Computer Engineering Department, where I have also started an IoT course jointly with the faculty.
