Matthew Bright serves as chair of the NFC Forum’s Retail & Payment working group and Senior Director, Product & Technical Marketing at Thinfilm in San Jose, California. The 140-member NFC Forum’s (www.nfc-forum.org) mission is to advance the use of Near Field Communication technology by developing specifications, ensuring interoperability among devices and services, and educating the market about NFC technology. In his role at the NFC Forum, Matt directs initiatives focused on working with stakeholders in the areas of consumer goods packaging, mobile marketing, payments, and point-of-sale technology in physical retail and omnichannel environments. At Thinfilm, he is focused on building the Internet of Everything and leads partner engagement for interactive solutions based on Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. He also serves as co-chair of the Mobile Marketing Association’s IoT Connected Objects Task Force, encouraging the adoption of scalable, easy-to-use technologies to connect brands, retailers, and consumers. Matthew holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan and has extensive experience in electronics and solutions marketing for mobile applications, including SaaS, storage modules, and short-range wireless communications.
