Mike’s career in mobile and related technologies spans more than 20 years with a focus on IoT devices and related ecosystems. He began his career with Gimbal – a company initially founded inside of Qualcomm’s Labs incubator- managing product development. During this time, Mike was responsible for the first commercially released industrial Bluetooth low energy beacons and sensors followed by numerous large-scale deployments including the first high end retail store chain, the first nationwide chain of sports venues, and the very first smart city.

In 2016, mobile advertising platform The Mobile Majority acquired Gimbal, but retained the Gimbal name. Mike currently holds the position as Vice President of Customer Engineering where he helps customers design and implement innovative solutions for asset tracking, sensor and data collection, mobile advertising, and micro-location.

Mike graduated from the University of California, San Diego and has co-authored multiple patents spanning a variety of mobile, IoT and location-based technologies in countries around the globe. He is specifically focused on disruptive technologies that bring new and interesting experiences to both consumers and brands alike.
