IoT Innovation: Ultrasonic wireless power at a distance for IoT applications

Current IoT systems are typically designed with strict power budget in mind in order to prolong battery life, which mean tradeoffs between functionality and longevity. Furthermore, the demand for additional power is growing as IoT deployments shift towards edge computing. While various power harvesting technologies have been available for years, they can be unreliable as a primary energy source depending on the application. Ultrasonic wireless power can be a viable and compelling solution to current power constrained IoT designs. This truly wireless power-at-a-distance technology can potentially unleash system performance while minimizing battery-related issues.

Transforming Supply Chains Leveraging IoT and Blockchain

This session will demonstrate how Internet of Things(IoT) and  Blockchain can be used to add trust, transparency and authenticity, to a complex supply chain that currently uses minimal technology.

Our first use case with UC Berkeley and the Government of Andhra Pradesh to enhance visibility, monitoring and tracking in the seafood supply chain resulted in improving the quality of the product significantly. This encouraged us to explore managing the cold chain for other products, including vaccines leveraging IoT.

In this session you will learn about

  • A real-world example of tracing the journey and temperature of seafood in tamper-proof blockchain records
  • The IoT architecture including sensors and gateway, to track the health of products on its journey
  • Lifesciences and Automobile market plans to improve supply chain management using IoT

Hungry for Transformation: How the Industrial Internet is Powering the Food and Beverage Industry from the Field to the Factory

The global smart manufacturing market is expected to expand by hundreds of billions of dollars by 2025. Manufacturers, however, are starting to look beyond productivity goals alone and are starting to collect more sophisticated data on assets, equipment and component parts to create new-as-a-service business models.

By connecting assets and tapping predictive analytics, the food and beverage industry is advancing customer experiences while ensuring a safe supply chain that stretches from the factory floor to the kitchen table.

Beyond driving wins in their bottom lines, digital transformation is also boosting morale and designing new ways to work that reduce repetitive tasks and allow teams to focus on more meaningful work.
